Weather alert systems use two-way radios to alert the public to dangerous weather that is approaching. In some cases, the normal communications channels including television and telephones may not be operational. Two-way radios may be a last resort if a storm or earthquake is upon a specific area. Two-way radios are useful for many different reasons. But, one very important use of these devices is to safe lives and protect the public when other methods just will not do as good a job.
